Patient Protection Manifesto

As a trusted and reliable service, our main priority is our patients' health and safety. To ensure we are maintaining this we restrict any violation of our terms and conditions by carrying out all necessary procedures, internal and external security checks, that go beyond regulatory clinical standards to safeguard our patients to the highest level possible.

We are regulated by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), as well as licensed by the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). We want to help protect our patients from serious health risks, abuse, addiction or overdose, as well as reassure the public that our service is safe to use.

Our Safeguarding policies:

1) Increased security & identity checks

Our system will automatically run security checks on all of our patients using an email address, postcode and name. Orders are monitored throughout the working day, any potential breach of our terms and conditions or fraudulent activity using this system will be flagged, and verification that the information collected is authentic will be carried out manually for thorough investigation. If a breach has been detected, our team will be notified and the patient will be logged and ‘blacklisted’.

We also conduct soft credit’s check (also known as soft search), when consent is given. These have no impact on a patient’s credit score or any future credit applications they might make and the credit rating will not be affected.

2) Blacklisting

Any patient who has breached, or attempted to violate our terms and conditions, will be placed on our blacklist. This will automatically restrict the patient from ordering with us again, as well as preventing them from creating a new account by remembering certain personal information that they may have used before, including their postcode, name, email address and photo identification.

3) Involvement of the patient's General Practitioner (GP)

As a result of the GPhC’s guidelines that were introduced in April 2019, it is now required for us to communicate directly with a patient’s GP to ensure the medication requested is safe for the patient to continue taking, for more details regarding these regulations please click here. Patients will need to give consent for us to carry this process out. Any further requirements or necessary follow-ups will be discussed and logged by the appropriate clinical team member on the patient's profile that we hold.

4) Photo ID verification

When it’s required, a patient will be guided through a process that encourages them to take a photograph of their face and their photo ID. This will then verify that their face matches the identification displayed. Only one ID can be used on the system, and if the same ID has been used before the system will flag this. By taking this additional step, we are able to confirm that the person ordering the medicines is the person who intends to consume it. If we suspect any fraudulent activity we will be sure to conduct our own investigation and take the necessary action. We are also more than willing to cooperate with the authorities if the situation arises.

5) Increasing the prescribers influence

Patients who wish to purchase from our site must first go through an initial consultation before they will be displayed relevant products. The medication they select may also come with an additional consultation that will be sent to our prescribers. Our prescribers are registered independent healthcare professionals who ensure the items ordered are safe for the patient to take. A prescriber may decline any order at their own discretion, based on their professional knowledge. A prescriber also has the ability to connect with the patient on a more personal level, whether that be to signpost them to other services, provide them with relevant health advice regarding their medication, or seek further clarity regarding their order. A prescriber will also have a specific amount of time dedicated to reviewing each order/prescription, to reduce the risk of a potential oversight.

6) Dosage follow up & treatment reviews

The maximum dosage recommended by the British National Formulary (BNF) for any opioids is 8 tablets per day, this is 224 per month. Our opioid ordering limit is 200 tablets per 28 days.

If a patient has ordered 200 tablets for three consecutive months before they can order again they will be required to have a telephone conversation with one of our registered prescribers to discuss condition, dosage, symptoms before the prescriber makes a decision to continue to prescribe the requested medication.

We have also introduced treatments reviews for specific conditions to follow up with the patient's progress and ensure we are doing all that we can to help the patient.

7) Shipment - tracked and signed for

All orders that leave our pharmacy are tracked our courier, Royal Mail. The package needs to be signed for, in order to confirm receipt of the medication delivery. If this is not possible then the item will be returned to us.

8) Requesting proof of previous GP prescriptions

Our prescribers may request proof of a repeat prescription from the patient. The patient can take a picture or scan their prescription repeat slip or previously dispensed medication label that proves that they have been prescribed the medication previously by their GP.

This rules out any concern that the patient is self-prescribing, as well as ensure they are requesting the correct strength and quantity, within an appropriate time frame.



By implementing these additional security procedures our patients are safeguarded from any serious health risks when ordering medication from us. Our implementations will restrict patients from violating our opioid policy, opioid ordering limit, or conducting fraudulent activity. We want to ensure that our prescribers are provided with enough information to make appropriate clinical decisions that benefit the patient’s safety.

Overall, these are important steps towards creating a trusted and safe environment in regards to selling medication online.

General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) - The responsible governing body for independent regulation of pharmacists and pharmacy premises in the UK.

Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) - We are also an approved seller of prescription medications.

High risk product - Product that has serious health risks, or side effects, if not taken appropriately, e.g. if a patient increases the intake of Codeine Phosphate there is a risk of overdose or addiction.

Low risk product - A medicine less likely to cause, serious side effects, addiction or be abused.

Prescriber - A registered independent healthcare professional who ensures the items ordered are safe for the patient to take.
