Gonorrhoea can cause very serious complications if it is not treated, however it can be cured with the right medication.ntibiotic treatments are a SECOND line of treatment. How To Take

Dose

The antibiotic treatment consists of FOUR tablets that you take together as a single dose.

2 Suprax Tablets

The two antibiotics are Suprax (Cefixime) and Azithromycin.

Suprax 200mg Tablets contains a medicine called cefixime. This belongs to a group of antibiotics called ‘cephalosporins’ and is used in the treatment of gonorrhea.

2 Azithromycin Tablets

Azithromycin is also used in the treatment of gonorrhea, because up to 40% of those who have gonorrhea also have Chlamydia.

The addition of Azithromycin treats any Chlamydia infection that maybe present and also makes Suprax (Cefixime) more effective in treating gonorrhea.

Special Instructions

Antibiotic tablets are SECOND line treatment and you can take them instead of an injection if you prefer. If you have any symptoms of gonorrhoea, these will usually improve within a few days, although it may take up to two weeks for any pain in your pelvis or testicles to go away completely.

First line treatment will involve having a single antibiotic injection followed by one antibiotic tablet. The injection is required as certain strains of the gonorrhea bacteria have become increasingly resistant to some antibiotics.

If you are unsure as to whether second line treatment is appropriate for you, then please Contact Us.
