Maxalt Melt is a fast acting, effective painkiller that dissolves in your mouth and specifically used to relieve Migraine attacks.
Maxalt melt oral lyphosite wafers contain the active ingredient rizatriptan, which is a type of medicine called a serotonin (or 5HT) agonist. This type of medicine is also commonly known as a 'triptan'. It is a painkiller specifically used to relieve migraine attacks.
During migraines the throbbing head ache is caused by widening of blood vessels in the brain. Maxalt melt relieves this pain by causing the blood vessels in the brain to narrow.
Maxalt melt wafers have the advantage of not having to be taken with water, they simply dissolve in your mouth.
Take ONE tablet (10mg) placed on your tongue, where it dissolves and can be swallowed with the saliva..
Can Take Without Water
It can be used in situations in which liquids are not available, or to avoid the nausea and vomiting that may accompany the ingestion of tablets with liquids.
Do not take more than 2 doses of Maxalt Melt in a 24-hour period.
If migraine returns within 24 hours you can take an additional dose of Maxalt melt.
You should always wait at least 2 hours between doses.
If after 2 hours you have not responded to the first dose for a migraine attack, then you should not take a second dose of maxalt melt for that same attack.
Keep Away From Children
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not store above 30°C.
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects.
Although not everybody gets them and the effects are usually mild to moderate and of a short duration.
