What is Ramipril?
Ramipril capsules are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). They are also used to treat heart failure and kidney problems, and as treatment after a heart attack that is complicated by heart failure.

Ramipril tablets belong to a group of medicines called ACE inhibitors. The active ingredient is ramipril.
This medication works to relax and widen the blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood around the body. Ramipril also decreases the substances your body produces that causes high blood pressure.
How do you take Ramipril?
It is important to take the exact Ramipril dosage prescribed by your GP or pharmacist. If you are allergic to peanuts or soya, you shouldn’t take this medication as it contains soya lecithin.
Adults should take one capsule each day, as prescribed by your GP, with a glass of water. Take your capsule at the same time everyday.
This medication can be taken with or without food, but it’s best to limit the amount of alcohol you drink when you are being treated with Ramipril. The combination of Ramipril and alcohol can make you dizzy and lightheaded.
