What is Curanail (Amorolfine) 5% nail lacquer?
Curanail is the brand name version of the antifungal nail lacquer that is used to treat fungal nail infections. Another brand that is used is Loceryl. Curanail (Amorolfine, Loceryl) is applied directly to the nail in order to kill the fungi that can cause nail infections.

How does Curanail (Amorolfine) work?
The active ingredient in Curanail (Amorolfine) is amorolfine hydrochloride. This is an antifungal medication that kills a wide variety of fungi that cause nail infections.
How do you use Curanail (Amorolfine)?
Always use Curanail (Amorolfine) exactly as it has been prescribed to you.
Fingernails: Apply ONE to TWO times a week for 6 months as directed.
Toenails: Apply ONE to TWO times a week for 9-12 months as directed.
Clean your nails before use. Carefully file down the affected area of the nail as much as possible using the nail file provided with this treatment. Be careful not to file the skin around the nail.
Clean the surface of the nail using the swabs provided.
Apply the varnish using one of the reusable spatulas provided with the treatment. Clean the spatula between each use. Repeat these steps for every affected nail.
Let the lacquer dry for approximately 3 minutes. Continue using this product until your infected nails have completely regenerated. This takes approximately 6 months for fingernails and 9-12 months for toenails.

Like all medicines, Curanail (Amorolfine) 5% nail lacquer can cause side effects, but not everyone will experience them. The most common side effects of Curanail are discoloured, broken or brittle nails. However, these side effects only affect up to 1 in 1000 people.
