Asthma Pack

What is the Asthma Pack?

The content of the Asthma Pack provides a combination of two inhalers in a range of micrograms. The inhalers work to relieve mild, moderate and severe asthma and respiratory symptoms. The use of inhalers helps people live well with asthma, as improper management can be dangerous and limiting for a person who has asthma.

The Asthma Pack contains both a brown Clenil Modulite inhaler and a blue Ventolin inhaler. The treatments aid people living with asthma to prevent their symptoms and to relieve asthma attacks.

Both of these products can be included in a written asthma action plan to ensure proper care and medication are being used to control symptoms. Asthma action plans are to be designed along with a medical professional. These are made with the goal to outline the correct use of all medical resources while having an asthma attack. This prevents flare-ups and emergency hospital visits for a child or adult with asthma symptoms.

The brown Clenil Modulite inhaler is a preventing inhaler that is used prior to asthma attacks. It is not useful during an asthma attack.

The blue Ventolin inhaler is a reliever that is for use during an asthma attack. This inhaler contains a fast-acting bronchodilator that quickly opens the airways.

To find out more about The Asthma Pack, please see the Patient Information Leaflet for the Clenil Modulite inhaler and Ventolin inhaler

How it works

The Asthma Pack will equip you with two types of inhalers that work together to minimise the risk of having an asthma attack and to provide fast action if one triggers.

The brown Clenil Modulite inhaler is used for asthma control. This treatment is also known as a ‘preventer’. This is because it helps to prevent asthma symptoms to make it easier to breathe. It should not be used during an asthma attack.

The blue Ventolin inhaler is a reliever that is for use during an asthma attack. This inhaler contains a fast-acting bronchodilator known as salbutamol. This quickly opens the lungs for a better flow of air during an asthma attack. Carry a ‘reliever’ asthma inhaler with you at all times while at home and during travel.

Before you take it

Most healthy people can take the treatments included in the Asthma Pack. Clenin Modulite, however, contains a 200 and 250 dose strength that is unsuitable for children. We do not prescribe any medications to people under 18 years old.

It is important for your own health and safety that if you already suffer symptoms of an allergic reaction related to similar medicines or any ingredient in this Asthma Pack, you talk to your doctor or pharmacist before ordering this medication.

It is important to always remember that the brown Clenil Modulite inhaler and the blue Ventolin inhaler serve different purposes when treating people with asthma.

Some ingredients in the Asthma Pack are unsuitable for some patients. You should contact your doctor or healthcare professional if any of the following apply:

  • You have an allergy to similar inhalers
  • Your asthma is appearing to be getting worse
  • Your ‘reliever’ inhaler is becoming less effective
