Type 2 diabetes is different from type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is when the insulin-producing cells in the body have been destroyed and the body cannot produce any insulin at all. Those diagnosed with type 1 diabetes have to manage their condition with insulin injections for the rest of their lives.
